What is Cycle-Sync Training?

Cycle-sync training is a fitness approach designed around the four phases of the menstrual cycle menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal. Instead of following a one-size-fits-all training plan, this method adapts workouts to match hormonal changes, energy levels, and recovery needs.

Why It Works

Hormones like estrogen and progesterone fluctuate throughout the month, influencing strength, stamina, flexibility, and mood. Aligning workouts with these shifts helps:
• Boost performance
• Reduce risk of injury
• Support hormonal balance
• Enhance overall well-being

Breaking Down the Four Phases

1. Menstrual Phase (Days 1–5)
• What’s Happening: Low hormone levels; energy may dip.
• Best Training: Gentle movement light boxing drills, yoga, stretching, or low-intensity walks.
• Tip: Focus on rest and recovery, but keep the body moving to promote circulation and mood balance.

2. Follicular Phase (Days 6–13)
• What’s Happening: Estrogen rises, energy and strength improve.
• Best Training: High intensity boxing, strength training, or new skill-based drills.
• Tip: This is the ideal time to push harder and progress towards personal bests.

3. Ovulatory Phase (Days 14–16)
• What’s Happening: Peak estrogen; you feel strong, powerful, and confident.
• Best Training: Power based workouts pad work, bag circuits, explosive conditioning.
• Tip: Perfect phase for sparring or high energy group sessions.

4. Luteal Phase (Days 17–28)
• What’s Happening: Progesterone rises, energy gradually declines.
• Best Training: Moderate intensity sessions, technique drills, or mobility work.
• Tip: Prioritise recovery, sleep, and nutrition as you approach your next cycle.
